Rosemary Tracy

From Organic Farming to Holistic Healing

Rosemary Tracy started studying Chinese medicine after a fateful foray into organic farming in 2010. She was working as a home health aide for adults with developmental disabilities and mental illness. This work ultimately left her feeling like she wanted to study medicine on a deeper level to help ease the suffering for those living with chronic pain and illness. Soon later was interested in holistic healing, getting to the root of the problem and healing it from the inside out.

Healing Journey through Yoga and Natural Health

Rosemary Tracy studied yoga and learned practices to help deal with her own pain. She grew up with health problems of her own, and had several of those “mystery” symptoms that no doctor was able to interpret. Rosemary Tracy was given misdiagnoses and the wrong medications. For a long time it felt like a hot inflammatory mess. Yoga was the first practice that truly began to help her shift out of these patterns of disease.  She also considered different avenues of natural healthcare, but it wasn’t until Rosemary met Moona that the path became clear.

Cultivating Wisdom

Passionate about healthy food, in 2010 Rosemary Tracy traveled southern California and the southwest learning organic farming practices. Landing in Taos, New Mexico at a farm owned by Moona, a wise medicine woman, acupuncturist, herbalist, and farmer. After Moona gave her a tour of the farm and pointed out the raspberry bushes Rosemary would be pruning, she showed Rosemary her acupuncture clinic where she treated patients as well.

Herbal Enlightenment

Past the sliding doors of the clinic they went out to the herb garden where Moona pointed out the herbs and their usage – for digestion, the liver, for women’s health – and that is when Rosemary knew she was dedicated to learning the practice of herbal medicine. To Rosemary, herbs are the most natural and comprehensive way to treat imbalances within the body. They are also beautiful and fun to grow.

Nature's Pharmacy

Alone, each one has a role and purpose for healing, and when they combine together miracles can happen shifting even the most stubborn patterns of disease within the body. Rosemary Tracy likes to make different products like topical ointments for pain, tea blends for various ailments or just to enjoy, and Chinese herb formulations for patients.

Rosemary Tracy Going From Spinach Patch to Healing Practice

Rosie had intended to stay on Moona’s farm for awhile, but the big wheel turned and her grandfather died, bringing Rosemary home to the east coast. Before she left, Moona sat her down in the spinach patch and told her that she would be going to school to learn acupuncture and Chinese medicine. It was like a lightbulb went on in Rosie’s mind – “Acupuncture, of course! Why hadn’t I thought of that!”

This was the path of natural medicine that Rosemary Tracy wanted to be on. She went home to Boston and began her studies at the New England School of Acupuncture in 2011 where she was blessed with many brilliant teachers and clinic advisers that provided a solid framework for Rosie to learn Chinese medicine and graduated in 2014. The combination of acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine had provided the perfect outlet for Rosemary Tracy to practice healing work.

“Throughout my time as an acupuncturist I have had the opportunity to serve different populations in different settings including private practice, community acupuncture, home visits and now in the hospital setting. Currently my career is going through a whirlwind of a transition as I am following my dream to serve the oncology population of the greater New Orleans area.”
